Termimesh - An Australian Success Story
Termimesh was invented in the late 1980's in response to concerns over use of organochlorines which had been the traditional method for controlling termites. This was a world first and breakthrough for the pest management industry.
Termimesh Australia was founded in 1990 to began research and testing the concept of using a flexible, stainless steel mesh, which would act as a
physical barrier to termites . The testing was a resounding success.
The Termimesh success story was underway:
- Australia's leading research organisation, CSIRO was contracted to test and retest the ability of the mesh to restrain termites.
- A Service Centre network was started in Perth in 1992.
- The company grew throughout it's home state in WA, winning the recognition from the Housing Industry Association and also inclusion the Australia Standard.
- By 1995 there were Service Centres throughout Australia.
- The first overseas Service Centre in Hawaii was established in 1995.
- Termimesh became the leading physical termite barrier with approximately 1 in 5 new homes having Termimesh installed.
- Further overseas Service Centres came on-line in Singapore, Japan. Texas and Florida.
- The Termimesh System was granted the highly regarded Certificate of Conformity by the Australia Building Codes Board.
- Over 260.000 Australian homes have Termimesh installed.
